Backfrom Melbourne

Hi everyone,
I had trouble postintg last week as I was rushing off to Melbourne for the week. I have been frantically busy squeezing in appointments and writing and my son's last race on Phillip Island. He is considering a career change as he is concerned about the cost and so on. I am concerned about the danger as you can imagine! The weekend before last I was fighting a bush fire at our beach house which was really scary. It was close enough to be a worry if the wind changed which thankfully it didn't. It took nearly three days for the last embers to go out. Of course only the day before we had had hail and sleet so that is Tasmanian spring weather for you!
Hope everyone's countdown to Christmas is not too stressful. I have made my pudding but am seriously considering buying a cake this time. I am writing a new Presents, this is my 22nd contracted novel and it is going brilliantly so I am loathe to stop the flow.
I finished my medical last week while in Melbourne and can't wait until my editor reads it. I had a ball writing it. Georgie and Ben sizzle on the pages!
Love to all,
Melanie x

Away again!

Hi everyone,
Well I'm off again, this time to Melbourne. I have a couple of appointments as well as my son's last race for the season on Phillip Island this weekend. My next Presents is set in Melbourne so it will be good to do some novel research, although I know the city pretty well as we down here facetiously call it a suburb of Hobart! I have made my pudding for Christmas-the cake is next when I get back. Phew! It's all go go go.
Hope everyone is super fit and well. I am on the home straight with Georgie and Ben in my current medical work in progress. Boy do they heat up the page!
Love to all,
Melanie x

Back from Sydney

Hi all,
I missed posting a blog last week as I flew to Sydney to stay with my oldest son and hit the ground running. I did the usual mum thing such as cleaning the flat for SIX hours! Once that was done it was time to shop and swim which I did every day. The weather was unusually cold for that time of year and of course I had packed the wrong clothes so had to buy more! Sydney is where I grew up so it's very familiar and I love pottering around the shops and eating out at fabulous restuarants. I am almost half way with my newest medical manuscript and it's one of those books that is writing itself. My hero Ben Blackwood is a neurosurgeon whose new registrar is Georgie Willoughby, the daugher of the Professor of Neurosurgery who failed Ben in his first sitting of his fellowship. It's great fun seeing them interact on the page-they positively sizzle!
Have a great week and I will be back soon.
Cheers
Melanie x
